When Jerry died, she wandered around in a haze until she channelled her guiding light beings from the Pleiades on what to do next. She was instructed to go to a psytrance rave and take ecstasy for the first time. After shaving off her dredlocks and taking a shower, she realized that her future was in dance music. Now a staple in San Francisco's vibrant breaks scene, she frequently terrorizes hippies on the dancefloor with non-organic, dirty basslines that have no 'ethnic' stylings whatsoever.
It is rumored that she can also throw down some mean jungle!!!!!!

evening in the headline slot at the LUGGAGE STORE Experimental Music
Series.

I'm working on a new series of pieces (notably one for two toy pianos and another
using some new vocal techniques that I've been trying to innovate) and I'm excited

Breaking News

Big San Francisco Quake predicted for Sunday, May 28th

Scientists have unanimously concluded that the next big quake will hit San Francisco on Sunday, May 28th, between 9PM and 2AM. They have even managed to pinpoint the exact location of the epicenter - at a lovely art deco bar named Catalyst Cocktails, at 312 Harriet Street (off Bryant between 6th and 7th).

"Normally we can't predict such an event with any certainty," said Dr. Feelgood of the San Francisco Booty Quake Society. "But this time we're sure. There will be three incredible forces of nature convening on that exact spot at that time - it's a "perfect storm" scenario. At the very least, we expect to experience a house quake."

The three "forces of nature" that Dr. Feelgood refers to are DJ Skip from New Wave City, pHreaki bOi from Spin THIS, and Tomas Diablo of Strangelove. "We consider the seismic force of '80s new wave and rock, '90s dance and new electro all under one roof to be substantial. And we can't stress enough the importance of being prepared for such an event. Make sure you have access to both a beverage and the dancefloor at all times."

Hi! I'm been a bit bogged down w/ my "real life job" (12+ hour shifts- whoo hoo! don't ya love computer system conversions? Well its been awhile since I've had one of my own mixes on the station...
I thought I'd take another turn on the decks...
These are from a group of tracks that I played at a party held at the Milky Way Bar in Boston last December...
I hope that you enjoy it :-)

Some of my thoughts about the set...

My mix titled "The Milky Way" is from a collection of dark and melodic tracks. Through these songs I strive to tell a story or create a journey where the tracks join together into a flowing stream of consciousness. The harmonies and melodies in them reinforce this effort and form distinct places within the journey, which express different emotions. These emotions are excitement, longing, aggression, and melancholy.

Its like a walk in the forest at night with a robot to protect you...

The mix airs everyday starting at 2 PM EDT, and again for the rewind at 2 AM EDT.
*The "Scheduler" on the main station page converts the times for your time zone.

Airing from 2/7 to 2/20.

Some thoughts about Format

First of all i want to both thank and congratulate the dark tekno collective and spin this for attempting and succeeding in throwing one the most difficult club nites... multi genre! Especially of this type blending industrial etc sounds with more techno sounds, because as we all know, the music might be similar but the crowds can be awkward to mix. So thanks!
The thing i love about spin this is that there are so many genre's represented. An such an awesome crowd!! The thing that bothers me about spin this is the format of "no sets" where 2 tracks of this style and then 2 of another etc are played. Speaking first and foremost as a dancer, and secondly as an event promoter, I really enjoy musical "flow" throughout the course of the evening. I like to dance, a lot! and for me sometimes it takes awhile to get into the music. It seems everytime i do at spin this, then, it changes and i have to readjust. Now i understand the concept behind the idea, but i'm wondering if now that the nite is longer, you could stretch it out a bit. Even to like 1/2 hour or hour chunks of one style, and then move into a complimentary style and keep it moving all nite. My favorite part about spin this last sat was that downstairs i got to listen to full sets from people (c/a/t!!!!!! fuck yeah!).
what are other thoughts on this subject? anyone else agree/disagree?

A brief history of Jack

After the breakup of the group 'Perennial Divide', Jack Dangers formed Meat Beat Manifesto in 1987, and mixed hip-hop beats with power noise. Initially considered an industrial act, MBM released a string of hard-hitting tracks on the Wax Trax label, such as 'God O.D.', 'Strap Down', and 'Genocide'. In 1990, Meat Beat Manifesto changed labels and released the seminal classic '99%', which contained 'Psyche Out', and 'Helter Skelter'. A B-side from this album, 'Radio Babylon', is widely recognized as the catalyst for the birth of jungle music. In the 90's, Jack inspired the big-beat sounds of artists like Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers, and released 3 more albums - 'Satiricon', the double album 'Subliminal Sandwich', and 'Actual Sounds and Voices'. After the commercial success of the single 'Prime Audio Soup' on the Matrix soundtrack, Jack dissolved Meat Beat Manifesto and released a string of records for DJs on the Tino Corp label (founded by Jack and Ben Stokes). In recent years, Jack reformed Meat Beat Manifesto and released the albums 'RUOK?', the jazz-oriented 'At the Center' and follow-up EP 'Off-centre', the DVD album 'In Dub', and a remix collection based on the Storm the Studio sessions. Jack has also recently released a number of albums of his solo work.

Jack Dangers is also an established remix artist, and his distinctive sound is instantly recognizable.

I see good times ahead at the Blue Cube. It's a million times nicer than the rawhide, the sound system is sooooo much better! and that ladies bathroom, next time i'm gonna host a cocktail tiki party in the lounge in there :)
c/a/t was soooo awesome, i'd never heard of them and they completely blew me away! If anyone could recommend some more artists that are similar to that, i would appreciate it!
